To Have and to Hold in April

Tartan Video have announced the UK DVD release of To Have and to Hold for 9th April 2007 priced at £19.99. Before winning critical acclaim with The Proposition John Hillcoat directed this claustrophobic study of mental disintegration and obsessive love set in one of the remotest parts of the globe. The film’s soundtrack is composed by Nick Cave and former Bad Seeds Mick Harvey and Blixa Bargeld, but also features the vocals of Scott Walker.

Working in Papua New Guinea, Jack tragically loses his wife, Rose, and sinks into heavy bouts of drinking. When he returns to his native Melbourne on a business trip, he meets romantic novelist Kate who shares an uncanny resemblance to his dead wife. They travel back to New Guinea where it becomes clear that he is still haunted by the past. Jack remains obsessed with Rose and his behaviour becomes more violent. Despite all the warning signs, Kate lets fate take its course no matter what the consequences are.

Presented in anamorphic widescreen with DD2.0, DD5.1 & DTS 5.1 Surround audio the only extra is the original trailer.

Features are subject to change.
