Prosecutors Oppose Lifting of Restraining Order Against Sheen

Prosecutors have filed a motion to oppose dismissal of a restraining order against Charlie Sheen, according to The Associated Press.

Lawyers for both Sheen and his wife, Brooke, say they want the order lifted so the couple can try to reconcile. Sheen is accused of putting a knife to his wife's throat and threatening to kill her. The order bars him from contacting her.

Assistant District Attorney Arnold Mordkin would not say why he filed the motion, and it's unclear when a judge will rule.

Sheen was arrested in Aspen, Colo., on Christmas Day on charges including felony menacing and domestic violence.

The 44-year-old star of Two and a Half Men — the top-rated sitcom on television — denies threatening his wife.
