ABC Alters Scrubs/Ted Scheduling Plan

ABC keeps altering their scheduling for Scrubs. The network has decided to not air a new episode this coming Tuesday, the 29th, as originally planned. Instead, a repeat of the season premiere will be shown that night. However, they still will air a new episode on a special night, Friday, January 1st.

The network had also planned to begin airing two new episodes each Tuesday, beginning January 5th. However, that too looks to have changed. Only one new episode will now air on the 5th, and while two episodes will air beginning on the 12th, one of them is a repeat. The doubling up plan also looks to be halted for Better Off Ted.

Both Scrubs and Ted have struggled in the ratings this past month, and the network's plan to double up on episodes seemed to indicate they were simply burning through both shows this season, and unlikely to renew either. While both still have to be seen as long shots for renewal, the decision to halt the doubling up plan (for now at least) could give those hoping either show could come back some reason for optimism.
