The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams - As the Show's Star Passes Away, We've Got 'Complete Series' News

Folks, we're not thrilled about the timing of this news, given that the show's star passed away this morning. Yes, Dan Haggerty died today (Janaury 15th) at age 74, after a months-long battle with cancer. Our condolences to his family and friends, and our thanks for years of entertainment, and a classic and heartwarming show like The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams.
Back in late 2012 and early 2013, Shout! Factory's Timeless Media Group brand released season sets of the program, with both seasons making it to DVD just a few months apart. Then, in early 2014, we passed on word to our readers that an www.odvdo.com listing showed an upcoming release for both seasons together as The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams - The Complete Series 8-DVD set. However, that listing at Amazon.ca was later deactivated, and the title never showed up. It appeared as if the studio had changed their minds.
However, last night one of our readers (our thanks to "Chad" for the email) tipped us off that Amazon.ca had a new, different pre-order listing now for The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams - The Complete Series on DVD. Like the previous entry, it shows a list price of CA$29.98 SRP for 8 discs. It gives a release date of March 8th.
There's no package art or details there at odvdo.com so far...nor is there any official studio announcement for the item yet, either. So this one, like the previous one, is not finalized and could be subject to change. If you put it on your calendar, use pencil for now, and stand by for updates. But certainly, anyone who missed the opportunity to own the season sets a few years ago, should once again get the chance to own these wonderful, inspiring stories. Let's hope it gets released this time! Stay tuned.
