Daniel Boone - TMG/Shout! Announce 'Season One: Collector's Edition' DVDs!

Fess Parker stars as one of the West's most iconic figures in Season One of Daniel Boone. Airing for six seasons from 1964 to 1970, Daniel Boone followed Parker's celebrated turn as another hero of the West, Davy Crockett. Set in the years immediately preceding the American Revolution, Daniel Boone follows the frontiersman through his amazing exploits in a still-untamed land.

Daniel Boone: Season One features all twenty-nine first year episodes of the hit series, filled with the thrilling yet wholesome Western adventures that fans and their families will gather around the television set to enjoy again and again. Between 2006 and 2008, individual season sets for Fess Parker's legendary show were released to stores through Goldhil for the first three seasons, then Liberty International for the final three seasons. Later, in fall 2014, all six seasons came together in a "complete series" release from Fox to honor the show's 50th anniversary...but it's only been available online as an MOD (manufacture on demand) release. Meanwhile, the individual season sets are out of print, and instead of being affordable will now often command high prices on the used home video market.

The Timeless Media Group (TMG), a brand own by Shout! Factory, is aiming to change that. They've announced an April 19th release of Daniel Boone - Season One: Collector's Edition on DVD. The 6-disc set will cost a mere $29.93 SRP, and comes in the thinnest packaging available yet for the show (see artwork below). The studio has indicated that there is new bonus material in-the-works...but they haven't finalized it yet, so we don't have details for you as of this writing. Stay tuned for that!
