Death Valley Days - The Classic Western Anthology Series...on DVD for the First Time!

Death Valley Days began broadcasting as a radio program, airing from 1930 to 1945. In 1952, the Western anthology program came back to life as a syndicated television show, airing on TV for 18 seasons (until 1970), and featuring several different hosts along the way (one of whom was a future U.S. president, Ronald Reagan, in what was his final acting role before entering politics). The show's never had a DVD release before...but that seems to be changing!
Shout! Factory hasn't formally announced it as of this writing, but an Amazon.com pre-order listing shows that Death Valley Days - The Complete 1st Season is coming to DVD from Shout! (or possibly their Timeless Media Group section?) on February 16th. It's shown to be a 3-disc package priced at $19.97 SRP.
Package art and details aren't available yet, but we can tell you that the show's first season contained 18 episodes, hosted by Stanley Andrews. The too-long-to-name list of guest stars include the likes of Hank Patterson (Green Acres, Gunsmoke) and Denver Pyle (The Dukes of Hazzard, The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams). Stay tuned for official word from the studio, with updates, just as soon as we're able to!
