We weren't aware of it until today, but this past Tuesday October 20th (according to the Amazon listing; see button link below!) Film Chest Media Group released a two-disc set called "The Barkleys and The Houndcats - 2 DVD Classic Animation Set"; these are both NBC Saturday morning cartoons from 1972, produced by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises. Price is $19.98 SRP.
The Houndcats was an animated show inspired by a live-action primetime series of the era called Bearcats (with additional inspiration from Mission: Impossible), and The Barkleys took their inspiration from All In The Family. You'll get 26 episodes from among these two shows...which is the entire run of both, considering they only ran for 13 cartoons each! Our thanks to longtime reader (and good friend) James Smith III for alerting us to this item!
