The Facts of Life - Cloris Leachman Arrives for 'The Complete 8th Season' DVDs

With the 7th Season DVDs - adding George Clooney (ER) to the cast! - coming to stores next Tuesday, October 20th, Shout! Factory is looking ahead to their individual release of the show's next-to-last season. Which is the season with the double-length opener, "Out of Peekskill," in which Edna Garrett (Charlotte Rae, Diff'rent Strokes, Car 54 Where Are You?) leaves her girls (and the show) and Edna's sister, Beverly Ann Stickle (Cloris Leachman, Raising Hope, Mary Tyler Moore Show, Phyllis), replaces her.

Besides cast members Leachman and Clooney and Mackenzie Astin's "Andy Moffett," you'll see guest appearances from Billy Bird (Dear John), Maurice LaMarche (Pinky and the Brain, Animaniacs), Penelope Ann Miller (Big Top Pee-wee, Kindergarten Cop), Doug Savant (Melrose Place, Desperate Housewives), Orson Bean (Miracle on 34th Street, 1977's animated The Hobbit), Fabian (as himself), Bobby Rydell (as himself), Dick Van Patten (Eight is Enough), Alex Rocco (Magic City), and Ben Piazza (I Never Promised You a Rose Garden), among others.
A www.dvdstvshow.com pre-order listing today shows that The Facts of Life - The Complete 8th Season is coming to DVD from Shout! Factory on January 26th. The 3-disc set will be priced at $29.99 SRP. This is the first time it's offered outside of the previously-available The Facts of Life - The Complete Series DVD set, so we're not sure if the on-disc contents are going to be identical to the eighth season discs in that package, which only contained the regular weekly episodes (extras, including the TV-movie "The Facts of Life Down Under," were included on a separate bonus disc in the Complete Series set). Details and package art aren't available yet, but stay tuned for updates!
