Annie and Auggie continue their relationship. They travel to Columbia to find evidence against Henry Wilcox and clear Auggie's name. Joan finds out she is pregnant.
When Auggie takes Annie outside of the CIA building to talk, he asks her whether she has seen "our Berlin Wall Memorial." The CIA was one of the recipients of sections of the Berlin Wall after German reunification, along with many other institutions in the USA, such as the Newseum and the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC, and the Presidential Libraries of Ronald Reagan in California, George Bush in Texas, and Gerald Ford in Michigan. However, the scene where Auggie and Annie are talking while leaning against the Berlin Wall segments is not the segments outside the CIA Building in Langley, VA, but one of the sites in Washington, DC where other segments are on display. This is obvious when the building in the background is seen close up, with vertical cement "ribs" running the length of the building as an architectural feature. The CIA Building in Langley does not have vertical cement "ribs" as an architectural feature, but instead has horizontal cement extensions between each of the floors as an exterior architectural feature.
